Welcome to the photographic art of Alan Dyck---What is Close Encounters Photography?

 This site is designed to display and sell the art and photography of Alan Dyck.  Why call it Close Encounters?  No, there are no aliens on this site. (Except I do use Alien Bees studio lights)  This is about Close Encounters of the Photographic Kind. The reason I decided to call it Close Encounters is for two reasons. First, some people think I look like Richard Dreyfuss and second, I don't specialize in any one kind of photography.   I love it all.  You will find close encounters with wildlife, people, butterflies, landscapes, pets, horses, wildflowers, water, and anything else that gets in front of my camera.  I am always looking for new opportunities to unleash my passion for creating photographic art.

The Prints:

I am now using a couple different labs.  I use H&H Color Labs for most portraits. I may also use Costco for immediate needs.  Photographs will be printed on semi-gloss or glossy paper unless another paper is requested. 

Pricing:

* Print sizes are approximate.  Some images may be adjusted to create the optimum display of the original image.

**Prices are approximate depending on frame chosen and if you want 2",3"or 4" border. Framed prints are only for local delivery.  I can't guarantee framed or matted prints will be delivered without damage.

Dry Mount Prices

In case you don't want your print matted or framed here is the cost for just dry mounting.

How to order:

 I NO LONGER have set up this site up to accept credit card payments through the secure Paypal process.    You may also order your prints by sending an email to closeencountersphoto@yahoo.com  or alan@closeencountersphoto.com fill in the   Please send me the name of the print or item you want and quantity and sizes. Let me know how you want the item finished (print only, matted, framed).  Leave me contact information and I will try to make sure I get the product you want.  We will have to decide on matt size and the type of frame you desire if you want it framed.  Once the payment has been received I will process your order.   

Processing Your Order:

Making prints from digital files does take a certain amount of processing time. I am glad to ship out prints I already have in stock.  But prints that need to be printed may take several days to process and if you would like matting and framing that will require several additional days.   During the fire season I may not be available to mat or frame your order for two weeks at a time.  Your patience in appreciated.  For print only orders you can anticipate a turn around time of five to seven working days. 

Shipping:

We will ship unframed and unmatted prints anywhere in the world.  Delivery of framed prints is limited to the continental united states.  Shipping will be via the the best available carrier but normally will be US Postal Service priority mail.  For more info on shipping please see my section on shipping.  At this shipping is included in the price of the print.

Areas under development:

Some areas do not have links built.  That means you may not be able to order these products through shopping cart online yet.  If you want these products you will need to call or email me closeencountersphoto@yahoo.com or alan@closeencountersphoto.com.  I have placed them here because I want to let you know they are either are underdevelopment or I just need to create the links.
